The Art of Managing Emotions

Feelings are much like waves, we can't stop them from coming, but we can choose which one to surf - Jonatan Martensson

The average person has 70,000 thoughts every day, and many of them trigger a corresponding emotion. Unsurprisingly, many of us often feel like we are controlled by our emotions, as we are not born knowing how to manage our emotions. And yet It’s a biological fact that our first reaction to any event will be an emotional one, but most people are not able to accurately identify their emotions as they happen. This means that we have to learn how to surf the emotional waves and become more aware so that we can effectively manage our feelings.

Highly emotionally intelligent people do this all the time and it helps them to effectively manage their stress and to realize their full potential. People high in self-awareness understand what they do well, what motivates and satisfies them, and which people and situations push their buttons. This is the foundational emotional intelligence skill and it can be developed.

The main objective of this session is to:
1. Increase your ability to recognize emotions in yourself and effectively process them in a healthy way.
2. Help you to understand the information that emotions are providing.
3. Increase your self-awareness and EQ.

In this session, Julie-ann will give you information on the art of managing emotions and show you how to “Feel it to Heal it” and “Name it to Tame it”.
